Description
Tinten is a house built around the mid-19th century, with an extension added in the early 20th century. It features coursed dressed killas rubble walls with freestone dressings and a scantle slate hipped roof supported by moulded wooden brackets beneath the projecting eaves. Brick chimneys rise from the side walls, while the extension has a dry Delabole slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan, consisting of two front rooms on either side of a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall situated between the rear service rooms. To the left, there is a later service wing set back at an angle, which includes a trap house and former servants' accommodation. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window west front with a central doorway. The original four-panel door features round-arched top panels and an overlight. The windows are original 12-pane hornless sashes, and all openings are topped with segmental arches that have projecting keystones. The interior has not been inspected.
