Description
The Rosemundy Hotel is a country house that has been converted into a hotel. It dates from the 18th century, was remodeled in the 19th century, and underwent significant extensions in the 20th century. The building is finished in stucco and features a dry Delabole slate hipped roof, with an axial brick chimney located towards the right.
The original layout of the house follows a double-depth plan, consisting of two rooms at the front that flank a central entrance hall, which likely leads to a stair hall situated between the rear service rooms. A late 19th-century wing has been added to the right, characterized by two-storey bay windows at the front, along with large extensions from the 20th century on both the left and right sides.
The exterior stands at two storeys and displays a symmetrical five-window front with a central doorway. The door is set back within a late 19th-century porch that features a round hood and octagonal columns, designed in an early 18th-century style. The windows are likely mid-19th-century 12-pane hornless sashes, and the stucco work includes rustications. On the right side, there is a two-storey canted bay, while the left side features a set-back 20th-century extension, with another extension on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
