Description

Deep Dene is a small house, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of local killas rubble with wooden lintels over the window openings, and has an asbestos slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. A large external chimney stack is located on the left-hand side.

The house follows a double-depth plan, with what was probably a kitchen/living room on the left and a parlour on the right. An entrance lobby or cross passage sits between them, with shallower service rooms at the rear.

The two-storey front façade is nearly symmetrical, featuring two windows. The first-floor windows are grouped closer together, and a central doorway aligns with the window arrangement. The original window and door openings remain. The house has an 18th or early 19th century six-panel door and circa late 19th or 20th century four-pane hornless sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
