Description
A row of one house and three cottages, now converted into three separate houses, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with accompanying front garden walls. The buildings are constructed of killed rubble walls with brick arches over the openings. The house and the adjoining cottage have asbestos slate roofing, while the former pair of cottages to the right has dry Delabole slate. Brick chimneys are present over the gable ends on the left side, over the party walls, and over the hipped ends to the right. The house, on the left, has a double-depth plan with two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall. The cottages each have one room at the front and an entrance hall to one side. The pair of cottages are set at a right angle behind the end of the right-hand building. The house has a symmetrical three-window front with a central doorway, now featuring a 20th-century door and overlight. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The adjoining cottage has a single-window front with a doorway on the right. The former pair of cottages is lower and also has a symmetrical three-window front, with a pair of doorways in the middle; the left-hand doorway is now blocked. These cottages feature 20th-century doors and late 19th-century horned sashes. The front garden walls are granite coped. The interiors have not been inspected.
