ST AGNES BRITISH ROAD, SW 75 SW 4/132 Former Coastguards' Cottage - (formerly listed as 1,2 and 3 26.11.87 Coastguard Cottages) GV II

Former coastguards' cottages, now private houses. 1893. Dressed killas, brought to course, with granite dressings. Dry Delabole slate roof with exposed rafters under the eaves. stone gable and axial stacks. Original cast-iron gutters. Plan: Double-depth overall L-shaped plan. On the left 2 identical pairs of houses (except that porches are different) now 2 houses and on the right former head- coastguards house with cross wing, projecting as service wing at the rear, on its left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Except for the insertion of 2 doorways (in former window openings) at the front the elevations are unaltered. Slightly irregular 10-window north-east front with slightly projecting gable end of cross wing towards the right. Plinth. Original 12-paned horned sashes. Interior: Where inspected the interior has most of its original features.
