ST AGNES BRITISH ROAD, SW 75 SW 4/136 Castle Villa, including front - garden walls GV II

House including front garden walls. Circa mid-late C19. Roughly coursed killas with dressed stone voussoirs over the openings. Grouted scantle slate hipped roof with brick chimneys over the side walls. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters. Plan: Double-depth plan with 2 rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall leading to stair hall between 2 rear service rooms. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window road front with central doorway. Shallow segmental keyed arches. Probably original door and windows: panelled door with overlight, 12-pane horned sashes. Openings are spanned by shallow segmental arches with keyblocks. Garden wall parallel to the front, and returning at the sides, is stepped down the slope and has dressed granite copings. Interior not inspected.
