Description
The Homestead is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, constructed from killas rubble with timber lintels that are rendered over. It features a grouted scantle slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a double-depth plan, consisting of two rooms at the front that flank an entrance hall leading to a stair hall, with rear service rooms. There is a small later extension on the left side.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window front, with the windows and doorways slightly offset to the left. There is a 20th-century partly-glazed porch that includes a classical style entablature. The windows likely include original 16-pane hornless sashes, with a narrower 12-pane sash above the doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
