Description
No. 50 Commercial Road is a shop with accommodation above, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building features a stuccoed front and an asbestos slate roof that adjoins party walls at either end. It has a double depth plan, with the shop at the front, a living room behind, and an entrance hall leading to a stair hall on the right.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a one-window front. The double shopfront is located towards the left, with a first-floor window above the central doorway of the shop, and another doorway to the right of the shopfront. The shopfront remains unaltered from the early to mid-19th century, featuring three arch-headed lights in each shop window, original pair of glazed doors with an overlight, and a simple entablature above. The headrail in each doorway displays dogtooth detailing. The original 12-pane hornless sash windows are also present. The interior has not been inspected.
