Description
No. 18 High Street is a shop with accommodation above, dating from the mid-19th century. The building features stucco on studwork and an asbestos slate roof with slightly projecting eaves. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a two-window range. The original windows are hornless sashes with margin panes, set in pilastered architraves featuring keyed flat arches under moulded cornices on consoles, and with sill blocks on the first floor. There are later horned sashes with glazing bars above. The ground floor includes an original, though altered in the late 19th century, full-width pilastered and transomed three-light shop front, which has a splayed sidelight next to a recessed doorway on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
