Description

This is an early to mid-19th century townhouse, subsequently remodelled, likely in the 1860s, and now comprising two shops. It is built of stucco over probable rubble, with an asbestos slate roof. The building follows a double-depth plan and rises to three storeys, displaying a three-window facade. The original or 1860s windows are hornless sashes; the upper floors have nine-pane sashes within square openings, while the ground floor has taller twelve-pane sashes. The ground floor features a projecting double shop front of the late 19th century, with canted four-light windows featuring basket-arched upper lights set beneath a squat fascia. A moulded and carved round-arched doorway with panelled reveals is centrally positioned, and there is a 20th-century shop window on the far left. The interior is plain where inspected.
