Description
The building is a piggery with an integral swill kitchen, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof, which is partly missing, with gable ends. There is a brick chimney on the building. The layout consists of a long rectangular plan, with the swill kitchen located on the left and a range of six pigstys on the right, along with a feeding passage behind the stys. The long, low north-west front follows the slope of the land and includes six doorways. The entrance to the swill kitchen is through a doorway at the left-hand gable end. The doors are 19th-century ledged doors with offset hinges, allowing them to fold back against the wall when opened. Inside, the walls are lime-washed, and there are original partitions along with a 19th-century roof structure.
