Description

LOSTWITHIEL FORE STREET (south side), SX 15 NW Lostwithiel 10/82 No 9 - 18.10.49 GV II

House and shop. Dated 1688, with alterations of mid C19 for shop and some later alterations. Rendered stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends and gable end stack to left. The house has a central entrance to front, leading to the shop at ground floor; possibly formerly extended further to rear, now of single depth plan. 2 storeys on plinth and 2 windows; first floor has two 16-pane sashes, with recessed datestone between, with inscription TBA 1688; ground floor has glazed door with hipped hood on brackets, plate-glass window to left in plain raised architrave, small bay window to right with hipped roof and plate-glass windows. The left side has wall chamfered to front, blocked doorway to left with C20 plate-glass window inserted, upper storey completely rebuilt in brick. Interior Not inspected.
