Description
No 2 Queen Street is a house and shop, likely built around 1800, with later additions and alterations from the late 19th century and 20th century. The building is made of rendered stone rubble and has a slate roof with gable ends and brick gable end stacks.
It features a central entrance leading into a double-depth plan, with a shop on the front left and the main room on the front right, along with a rear service wing on both sides. The building has three storeys on a plinth and three windows, arranged symmetrically except for the shop front.
On the ground floor, there is a central panelled and glazed door with a hood, a 20th-century window to the right, and a double plate-glass shop front to the left, which includes a central half-glazed door and a late 19th-century fascia above with consoles. The first floor has a central 12-pane sash window with a cambered head, flanked by 12-pane sashes with sidelights, also with cambered heads. The second floor features a central 9-pane sash window, with 9-pane sashes and sidelights on either side, all having cambered heads. The building is topped with a moulded eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
