Description
The building is a house that has been converted into a Post Office, dating from around 1830, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and has an asbestos slate roof with gable ends and gable end stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, and the ground floor front rooms now serve as the Post Office.
It stands three storeys high and features three windows. The ground floor has a fascia and cornice that spans the entire front of the Post Office, divided into three bays with pilasters. There is a bowed shop window with glazing bars from the 20th century on both the right and left sides, and a central six-panelled door with an overlight adorned with wrought iron tracery. To the right, there is a bay that contains a post box, which may have originally been a passage leading to the rear of the house.
On the first floor, there is a central 12-pane sash window, flanked by two 12-pane sash windows with sidelights. The second floor features a central 9-pane sash window, with a 9-pane sash window and sidelights on each side. The building is topped with a modillion cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
