Description
No. 4 Dennison Road is a large town house built in the early to mid-19th century. The exterior features incised stucco on rubble, with slate hanging on the visible end walls. It has a rag slate hipped roof, which includes a brick stack on the left and an axial stack towards the left. The house also has a cast-iron ogee gutter. The building has a single-depth plan and stands three storeys over a basement, with a five-window range. It retains original and mid-19th century hornless sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance consists of four-panel doors, with a doorway located low down at the far left and an original doorway with panelled reveals and an overlight towards the right. The left-hand return features an upper floor that is slate-hung and progressively overhangs more towards the rear. The rear of the house has slate hanging on most of the upper floors and a central lean-to projection on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
