Description
No. 2 Castle Street is a small town house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features incised stucco on a rubble base and has a steep bitumen-grouted rag slate roof, with brick stacks at both ends and one at the rear left. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range. The windows are possibly original sashes with glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with a bowtell-moulded architrave and a moulded cornice hood, along with a rectangular overlight and a six-panel door that has flush bottom panels. The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted to have panelled window shutters on the ground floor, suggesting it may contain other interesting features.
