Description
The Guardian Building is a town house, likely built in the late 18th century. It features narrow-coursed rubble construction with granite quoins and shallow segmental arches, topped by a dry slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a five-window range. The first floor has 20th-century twelve-pane horned sash windows, while the ground floor has undergone 20th-century alterations, replacing the original four windows with two large display windows. The central doorway features 20th-century six-panel doors. The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted that the right-hand room retains an original moulded cornice, and the left-hand room has an early to mid-19th-century moulded cornice and ceiling band.
