Description
Liddels is an early 19th-century building that originally consisted of an unequal pair of houses but has since been converted into a single residence. The exterior features rubble walls that were revealed after the removal of incised stucco, which had moulded hoods on consoles at the ground level (except for the doorway) and moulded architraves on the first floor. The roof is made of bitumen-grouted rag slate and has a hipped angle on the left side. The building has a double-depth plan, with part of the front splayed back. It stands two storeys tall and has a two-window range, featuring 20th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows. The doorway on the far left retains its original six-panel door, although the two top panels have been later glazed. Another doorway has been blocked with rubble. The left-hand return side includes a 20th-century sash window above a mid-20th-century three-light transomed bay window. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
