Description
The lodge located approximately 700 metres east-south-east of Chyverton House serves as the entrance to the Chyverton estate. It was built in the mid to late 19th century and features coursed dressed killas with granite dressing. The roof is made of Delabole slate and has an L-shaped plan with gable ends. There is an axial brick stack over the cross wall and a lateral brick stack over the rear wall towards the right. The eaves have moulded wooden brackets, and the purlins are exposed beneath the projecting eaves.
The lodge is a single-storey building with unaltered elevations. The south-east front displays a gable end with a central window on the left, while the right side wall of the wing is set back and includes one small window and a gable-ended porch in the angle. It retains its original ledge door and casement windows. The principal gateway to the right features square-on-plan panelled piers topped with pyramidal caps. The interior has not been inspected.
