Stables At Approximately 30 Metres South West Of Chyverton House

The stables, located approximately 30 metres south west of Chyverton House, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of roughly-coursed killas with granite and brick dressings, topped with dry Delabole slate roofs featuring pedimented gables at the front. A brick chimney is situated over the gable end towards the left of the rear range, and part of the right-hand roof is glazed.

The overall plan is shaped like an "I", consisting of two parallel 18th-century blocks connected by a likely later single-storey building at the rear, along with high yard walls that feature a central gateway between the front ends. The exterior is two storeys high with a single-storey section. The symmetrical east front has two pedimented gable ends flanking high walls and a central gateway. Each front end includes a tall central round-arched niche, with the arch springing from a string course. The square gate-piers are on plan with moulded caps. The elevations facing into the courtyard remain unaltered, while the right-hand wall of the left-hand building features a three-window front with a central doorway, complete with old doors and windows. The interior has not been inspected.
