Description
Lower Ventongimps Farmhouse, including the front garden walls, gate-piers, and gate, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of killas rubble with some granite quoins and features brick arches over the openings. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate and has brick chimneys at the gable ends. The layout likely consists of two rooms at the front, flanking an entrance hall, with a later 19th-century lean-to on the left and a small late 19th-century trap-house on the right side of the front garden.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window front with a doorway and a window above, slightly to the right of the center. There is a circa early 20th-century glazed porch in front of the doorway, which has a glazed door with colored marginal panes and a panelled door within. The windows are late 19th or early 20th-century 16-pane horned sashes, set in openings that are spanned by segmental brick arches. The front garden wall is made of 19th-century stone rubble and includes granite monolithic gate piers and an old wrought-iron gate. The interior has not been inspected.
