Description
The North Lodge is a lodge built around the mid to late 19th century. It features roughly coursed shale rubble walls with granite quoins, sills, jambstones, and lintels. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate and is shaped like an L, with a gabled lateral external granite and shale chimney on the left-hand side wall. There is a lean-to attached, and the eaves and verges are slightly projecting with moulded purlins. The overall plan is T-shaped, including a later lean-to at the rear left. Originally, it had a 1-shaped design with three rooms and is two storeys tall. The south front has a projecting gable end on the left and a side wall with an entrance set back to the right. The gable end features a tripartite sash window on the ground floor and a two-light sash window above. The sash boxes are chamfered to resemble mullions, and the sashes are hornless with eight panes per light. Near the angle, there is a chamfered shouldered arched doorway with the original ledged door and iron fittings. The interior has not been inspected.
