Description

This is a barn located 20 meters to the south-west of Stockaton, possibly dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a corrugated asbestos roof with hipped ends. The barn has two storeys and retains the remains of a 3-light granite mullion window on the right-hand side of the north-east hipped end. Inside, the roof timbers include cambered collars, with several showing curved feet on the principals. There is a datestone from 1637 made of granite, which has been reset in a rendered wall that extends south from the south-west elevation. A full inspection of the barn was not possible.
