Description
This barn, located about 100 yards south-south-west of Stocken Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a weatherboarded timber frame topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has a rectangular four-bay layout, oriented north-north-east to south-south-west, and consists of two levels. The east elevation includes two loft openings, while the ground floor has double-leaved ledged doors on the left and a single ledged door on the right. The frame is constructed with three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are trusses with raking struts. This barn is included for its group value, although a later extension to the south is not of special interest.
