Description

This is a barn located about 40 yards west of Lower Stocks, likely built in the 17th or 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth with a weatherboarded timber frame and a corrugated iron roof. The barn has a rectangular plan, consisting of probably seven or eight structural bays that are aligned north to south. The east elevation includes a raking top dormer in the center, a wagon entry on the right, and a small ledged door on the left. The left two bays are infilled with breeze blocks. Inside, there are some trusses with raking struts and others with queen struts to collars. This barn is included for its group value.
