Description

This is a house, likely dating from the late 17th or early 18th century, with later alterations and a late 19th-century extension. The construction is timber-frame with plaster and brick infill, and a brick extension. The roofs are covered in sandstone slate, Welsh slate, and tile. The stacks are built of sandstone rubble with brick shafts. The house has a roughly rectangular, three- or four-bay plan aligned east to west, featuring a projecting wing and a 19th-century extension at the west end’s north side. It is a single-storey building with attics.

The north elevation has no first-floor windows. The ground floor of the timber-frame portion on the left has a late 20th-century oriel window to the left of a ledged door. To the right of the entrance are two sandstone stacks, one positioned behind the other. A late 19th-century lean-to is located to the right of the stacks. A gable-end stack on the left-hand side is partially covered by a lean-to with a hipped sandstone slate roof. The timber frame consists of three panels from the cill to the wall-plate. The 19th-century extension on the right-hand side features two windows with cambered heads and a Welsh slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
