Description
Wingles Cross is a cottage, probably built in the late 17th century to 18th century, with later alterations. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with plaster infill, topped by a tile roof and two brick end stacks. The building has two bays aligned north-east to south-west and is one storey with an attic. The south-east elevation includes a gabled dormer with two-light early 20th century casements, with one on each side of a ledged early 20th century door. There is a blocked opening beneath the eaves on the left side. The left gable is made of sandstone rubble, while the right gable is timber-framed. The frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, with four angle struts connecting the intermediate and corner posts to the wall-plate. At the rear, there is a timber-framed single-storey lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
