Description
Church House Barn is a barn that likely dates from the late 17th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a weatherboarded timber frame, topped with a sandstone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular five-bay layout, oriented roughly north to south. On the left side, there is a raking-top dormer, and in the center, there are full-height, diagonally ledged double doors. The left side of the barn is weatherboarded, while the right side is made of sandstone rubble and includes one blocked loop. Attached to the left side is a circular plaque from around 1930, which is yellow and black enamelled and reads:
AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
HEREFORD 15
ALMELEY KINGTON 5 1/2
LONDON 147
SAFETY FIRST
Inside, the barn features heavy timber wall-framing with two square panels extending from the ceiling to the wall-plate, along with raking strut and queen strut trusses.
