Description

Almeley House is likely a late 18th to early 19th century house, altered in later periods. It is constructed of painted brick with hipped Welsh slate roofs and brick end stacks. The house follows a T-plan, with a wing projecting to the north. It has three storeys and attics. The south elevation features a 3:3 window arrangement, with glazing bar sashes. The top floor windows are three in number: the central one beneath a gable, and the outer two beneath the eaves of a symmetrical pair of hipped roof sections. Two plat bands delineate the three storeys. The central doorway contains a filleted six-panelled door, likely dating to the early 19th century. Internally, there is a two-flight oak staircase from the 18th century, with a half-landing, turned balusters, and a moulded handrail. The balustrade surrounding the top of the stairwell is complete with matching balusters.
