Description
This barn, located about 15 yards south of Lower Wormhill Farmhouse, likely dates from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and east gable, with a timber-frame structure covered in weatherboards and a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron. The barn has five structural bays arranged in a west-north-west to east-south-east orientation and consists of two levels. The north elevation includes a central ledged cart-entry, while the east gable has a weatherboarded upper section above a rendered lower part, featuring two entries: one in the center and another to the right leading into a cow house beneath the tallet. Inside, the side walls are made up of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. The trusses have either three or two posts between their ties and collars, with wind-braces between the bays. This barn is included for its group value.
