Description

This barn, located to the northeast of Lower Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century for the eastern half and the late 18th century for the western half. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, resting on a rubblestone plinth. The roof is covered with corrugated asbestos sheets. The barn consists of six bays arranged in two sections, each with three bays and central cart entries. The eastern half features curved principal trusses supporting a double purlin roof, along with raking wall struts and straight braces connecting the tie beams and upper purlins. The western barn is similar in style but has smaller section framing.
