Description
Spicketts is a 17th-century house located on Frog Lane in Cuddington. It is built of witchert, which is colourwashed and rendered, sitting on a rubblestone plinth. The house features a thatched roof with half-hipped ends, an old tile-roofed front lean-to, and a single-storey rear wing added around 1960. The structure consists of three bays and one storey plus an attic.
The north elevation has a board door in the centre bay of the lean-to, while the left bay projects outward, containing a staircase. The windows are leaded casements, and there are three dormers: eaves dormers in the right bays and a dormer in the roof of the left bay. A chimney stack is situated between the left-hand bays. The circa 1960 addition features a two-light casement facing the road, and there are irregular casements on the east gable of the main house.
Inside, the house has timber-framed partition trusses between the bays. The inglenook fireplaces have chamfered and stopped lintels, with the centre room's fireplace featuring chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered and stopped spine beam. The roof structure includes straight purlin braces.
