Farmhouse. Probably C17 and mid-C19 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble and timber-frame. Corrugated iron roofs. Two large gable-end stacks in sandstone, one with brick shaft. L-plan with two-bay arms extending towards west-south-west and north-north-west. Two storeys. South elevation has 1:2 windows, an unglazed opening to left. One 2-light late C20 casement to left of gable stack and a contemporary 3-light casement to right. Ground floor has segmentally headed mid-C19 window with brick arch to left of four-panelled late C19 door. Weathered buttress separates the two arms. Gable has two windows similar to those above. Interior has fireplace in southernmost room of ground floor with chamfered stone jambs rising to shouldered lintel with ogeed chamfer stops. The ceiling of the same room is divided into six panels by beams with wide chamfers. West wall of eastern ground floor room has close-studding and chamfered segmentally headed doorway. Truss of south-west arm has raking struts from tie to principals. (RCHM, Vol.III, p.212.)
