Description
This cottage, likely from the 18th century but with earlier origins and later alterations, is built from sandstone rubble and features a thatched roof with an end stack that has a brick shaft. There is also a rear off-ridge brick stack. The building has a rectangular plan oriented north-north-east to south-south-west and consists of one storey and an attic.
On the east elevation, there is a mid-19th century casement window with two lights set in an eyebrow shape to the left. The ground floor includes three late 19th century glazing bar casement windows, and between the central and right-hand windows is a late 19th century ledged door. The rafter-ends display an unsquared rustic appearance.
The west elevation features an eyebrow window to the left, two small two-light casements, and two ledged doors. Inside, the cottage has heavy ceiling beams and a mid-19th century cast iron range.
