Description

Court House Farmhouse is probably a 16th to 17th century farmhouse, with later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and timber-frame, with brick infill, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with arms extending to the west and south. It is two storeys high. The east-facing elevation has four windows, featuring 2- and 3-light casements dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. A door was added to the left of centre in the early 20th century. The left part of the elevation is of rubble construction, while the centre and right are timber-framed, with four vertically oriented slender rectangular panels between the cill and wall-plate. An angle strut connects the cill to the right-hand corner post. A large brick stack is located near the junction of the two arms of the building. The interior features heavy ceiling beams, and a large fireplace with a cambered oak lintel and sway.
