Description
Turn Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster and brick infill, set on a sandstone rubble plinth. The roof is shingled and has a central stack. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan oriented north to south and consists of one storey and an attic.
The east elevation displays two sets of windows, arranged in a 2:1 pattern. There are segmental-headed raking top dormers with 2-light casements on the left and a 3-light mid-19th century casement in the gable on the right. On the ground floor, there is another 3-light casement in the gable, flanked to the left by two ledged doors, a late 20th-century top vent glazing bar window, and an early 20th-century 2-light casement. The frame includes angle struts from the posts to the wall-plate, and the gable features V-struts above the collar. The frame has three square to rectangular panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
