Description
The Manor House is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with extensions and alterations made in the mid-19th century and later. It features painted brick construction and roofs made of stone and Welsh slate, with brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of four structural bays oriented east to west, with a 19th-century wing at the west end and a former coach house at the east end. It includes a cellar, two storeys, and an attic.
The north elevation showcases the main 18th-century section, which has four windows featuring late 18th-century or early 19th-century casements with two lights and segmental heads. There is a plat band, and the ground floor has two similar windows with three lights, along with a small 2-pane mid-20th-century window to the right of a central six-panelled door that has a semi-circular hood. The eaves cornice is cogged brick, and the first floor has two casements, each with three lights, along with two wide segmental-headed entries. The right entry is blocked by a small window and a ledged door, while the left entry features two-leaved doors. To the right side, there is a gable front of the 19th-century extension.
Inside, the principal ground floor room has a ceiling divided into panels by chamfered beams, and the fireplace has moulded surrounds that may date from the early 18th century. The entrance hall features early 17th-century panelling that has been reused on the side of an early 19th-century staircase. The first floor has wide oak floorboards, and the roof of the main range includes trusses with V-struts extending from collars to principals.
