Description

Weston Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid to late 17th century, with extensions added in the mid-19th century and further alterations made later. The building is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, with late 20th-century brick possibly replacing a timber frame at the right gable end and rear. It features asbestos slate and slate roofs. The original structure was probably made up of two or three framed bays, which were extended to the left in the late 17th century and to the rear on the left in the mid-19th century, resulting in the current L-shaped plan.

The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic. On the left side, there are three 19th-century casement windows, and on the right, there is one 20th-century casement window, all positioned directly below the eaves. The ground floor has three 20th-century casements, with the second window from the left occupying the spot of a former doorway. To the right, there is a segmental-headed half-glazed door where a window once was. A 20th-century flat-roofed dormer is located in the roof slope to the left. The building has an integral end stack with a red brick shaft on the left and a prominent extruded external lateral rubblestone stack with a red brick shaft at the center on the rear. A straight joint is visible at the front between the first and second windows from the left.

While the interior was not accessible for inspection during the resurvey in September 1986, it is likely to be of interest. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
