Description
A barn, probably dating from the 16th or 17th century, is situated north-east of Ashton Manor Farmhouse. It is a long, six-bay structure built of coursed stone rubble, with a steeply pitched roof covered in Collyweston stone and gabled ends. Small square ventilation holes are present in the walls. A midstrey, or central bay, is gabled and positioned off-centre, featuring ashlar jambs and a timber bressummer. A loft door is set into the gable end. A lean-to section has been partly demolished. Inside, the roof structure includes tie-beams, collar braces, and wind braces.
