Description
West View is a farmhouse, now a private house, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. There is an end stack on the right and a projecting stone rubble end stack on the left, both with brick shafts.
The building has a two-room and cross or through passage plan, with a larger hall kitchen on the right and a parlour on the left, both heated by the end stacks. A single-storey service wing, likely from the 19th century, has been added to the left-hand gable end.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular two-window front, with the entrance located to the left of centre. There is a 19th-century glazed gabled porch with margin glazing bars, flanked by two 19th-century 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are two more 19th-century 16-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
