Description

ST ISSEY SW 97 SW 4/208 Blable Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Circa mid C18, possibly with earlier origins, extended in mid C19. Stone rubble. Slate roofs with gable ends and cross wing with hipped ends. Projecting stone rubble end stack with brick shaft on left and brick side lateral stacks to right. Plan: Original plan uncertain. The earlier range on left has a 2-room plan heated by end stacks. In circa mid C19 a taller cross wing was added to the right, projecting beyond the left hand range and returning behind with a service range to rear, thereby forming an 'L' shaped plan. The later range contains a principal room to front with stair directly to rear and the earlier range was remodelled to provide 2 further principal rooms. Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3:2 window front with taller circa mid C19 range to right. To left, regular 3 window front with C20 door slightly to right of centre flanked by 6 pane sash to left and tall C19 12-pane sash to right. Three C19 20-pane sashes on first floor. To right two C19 tall 12-pane sashes on ground and first floor. Stair lit by window in right hand side. Interior: Not inspected.
