Description

Edgerly Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and has machine tile roofs. The building has a T-plan layout, featuring a range that extends at right angles to the rear on the right side of the main range.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has 19th-century casement windows with wooden lintels in the main range. The lower left window has slightly cambered voussoirs, with one directly below the eaves on the left and two to the right. The ground floor has the same arrangement, plus a narrow window immediately to the right of a blocked doorway next to the left window. A 20th-century glazed door is located between the two right windows.

There is a ridge stack with a dripstone and red brick capping positioned just to the right of the centre, along with a similar integral end stack to the left. The slightly projecting range to the right has a steeper roof pitch and features a 20th-century casement with a wooden lintel on the ground floor, as well as an integral end stack with a red brick shaft to the right. Additionally, there is a contemporary twin-gabled range at right angles to the rear on the right side of the main range.

The interior was not inspected during the resurvey in April 1987, but it was noted to have chamfered ceiling beams in the ground-floor rooms.
