Description
Martinhoe Mill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and has a slate roof with gable ends. The building features a stone rubble stack positioned just off the ridge at the front gable end, as well as another stone rubble stack at the left end of the rear range, both topped with tapered caps and drips. The layout is an L-shaped plan with three rooms, including a gable entry into the front wing that projects to the left and into the right-hand room of the rear range near the angle. A small single-storey service range with a gable end, built in the 19th century, extends from the left side of the wing, and there is a 20th-century extension at the rear. The farmhouse is two storeys tall and primarily features 20th-century windows. The rear range includes a two-paned window above a projecting porch with a lean-to slate roof and a plank door. To the right, there is a two-light casement window with six panes per light, which has a painted cambered brick arch above it. Inside, the farmhouse has been largely altered in the 20th century, including a rebuilt staircase, but some 19th-century joinery remains. The roof has not been inspected.
