Description

Chygernyk is a farmhouse, now a house, dating to the early 19th century with later 19th-century extensions. It is constructed of slate stone rubble with a rag slate roof, featuring gable ends. The original design included end stacks – one on the left – and a projecting rear lateral stack to the right with brick shafts.

The original range on the left likely has a single-depth, two-room plan with a cross passage and was originally heated by an end stack. Later in the 19th century, a separate cottage, with a single-room plan and a rear lateral stack for heating, was added to the right.

The exterior is a long range. The earlier range on the left displays a symmetrical two-window arrangement. A central door is flanked by two 19th-century hornless 16-pane sashes, with two similar sashes above. The later 19th-century extension on the right features a 20th-century glazed door beside a blocked window opening. The interior has not been inspected.
