Description
A farmhouse, dating to the late 18th century with extensions in the mid-19th century, constructed of rendered stone rubble. The roof is of rag slate, with a half-hipped end on the right and a cross wing to the left, also with hipped ends. Brick stacks are visible, one on the right end and another of rendered brick on the left side and axial. The original plan comprised a double-depth range with a central entrance flanked by two main rooms, each heated by an end stack, and two smaller service rooms at the rear. A two-room cross wing was added to the left, creating an overall âTâ shaped layout, and heated by side lateral stacks. The two-storey front has a regular 1:3 window arrangement. The original, lower range on the right has a central entrance with a late 19th or early 20th century partly glazed porch. A 19th century hornless 12-pane sash window is to the left, and a deeper, horned 12-pane sash window to the right. The first floor has three 19th century hornless 12-pane sash windows. The cross wing on the left has a late 19th century tripartite sash window with a 6-pane sash above it. The interior has not been inspected. A stone rubble garden wall encloses the garden to the front and side of the house, and a 19th century cast iron gate with stiles terminating in fleur-de-lys is present.
