Description
The south west gateway to the churchyard of the Church of St Ida is a notable entrance that consists of a pair of gate-piers and gates, dating from around 1870. This date likely coincides with the restoration of the Church of St Ida by J.P. St Aubyn in the same year. The gate-piers are constructed from stone rubble and are square in plan. The wrought iron gates are of the kissing-gate type, resembling those found at the north entrance and at the Church of St Petroc in Padstow. The stiles of the gates feature decorative spear-shaped terminals.
