Description
Alvacott is a farmhouse dating from around the 18th century. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble with some cob and features a slate roof with gabled ends. The building has stacks at both gable ends and a central axial stack. The layout consists of three rooms and a cross passage, with a short wing and an integral lean-to at the rear. It is two storeys high and has a four-window range. There is a two-storey gabled projection to the hall on the left side of the centre, and a panelled door to the right of the centre. The windows are 19th-century casements with two, three, and four lights, all featuring glazing bars. A 20th-century glazed porch has been added. At the rear, there is a short gabled wing with an integral lean-to in the angle, along with a wide gabled wing extension from the late 19th century at the centre.
