NORTH TAMERTON SX 39 SW 13/15 Ditchen Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 or earlier. Rendered cob. Concrete tile roof with gabled ends and raised eaves. Lower end has lower level slate roof with hipped end. Axial stack backing onto through-passage and stack at either end, all with rebuilt brick tops. 3 room and through-passage plan with outshuts at rear. 2-storeys. 5 window range. Late C19/C20. 2-light casements with glazing bars. C20 glazed door to right of centre to through-passage. Large buttress, probably C19 or C20 on front wall to left of doorway. Interior: hall has large fireplace to axial stack with chamfered granite jambs and chamfered wooden lintel. Kitchen at lower end has slightly chamfered wooden lintel to fireplace in end wall. Roof structure at upper end entirely renewed. Roof at lower end not inspected.
