Description

This is a cottage, originally two cottages, dating from the 17th century. It is built of rendered stone rubble, with some cob at the west end, and has a Delabole slate roof with gabled ends. Stone rubble stacks are situated at the gable ends. The cottage originally comprised three rooms. It is two storeys high, with a three-window front. The windows have C19 and C20 concrete lintels and slate sills. Two first-floor windows have raking roofs above the eaves. Stone, slate-roofed porches, one dating from the 20th century, are situated to the left and right. Inside, one cruck truss is visible, and the remaining principals are exposed in the first-floor rooms. Features include roughly hewn, closely spaced ceiling beams and a cambered fireplace beam at the east end, with an oven.
