Description
Vacye is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of stuccoed cob, with possible stone rubble, and features a slate roof with gabled ends that are slate hung, along with a modillion eaves cornice. There are brick chimney stacks at the gable ends. The house has a single depth plan with flanking wings and a central rear stair wing, and it stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-bay front.
On the ground floor, there are three French windows with glazing bars, leading to a later slate roof verandah supported by wooden posts. The first floor features three sash windows with glazing bars and thin moulded architraves. The flanking wings on the left and right have hipped slate roofs and modillion cornices. The left-hand wing includes a blind window set in a semi-circular recess, while the right-hand wing has a 20th-century brick stack on the front wall.
Atop the rear stair wing, which is partly slate hung, there is a glazed wooden octagonal lantern with a ball finial. The rear wing, facing north-east, has been remodeled in the 20th century and features 20th-century fenestration. The interior has not been inspected but may contain a good staircase.
